Marine engineer I'm a marine engineer from Scotland and I'm considering whether working in Australia would be an option, but I'm not sure whether visas are easy to get for my profile.

Marine engineers are currently in huge demand in Australia, as well as New Zealand. I shouldn't think you'll have any problem at all. Good luck! BTW the Australian Visa Bureau is a great source of information.
